'81 Corvette Click here to see the restoration in progress
Today, they're still my preferred Corvettes. That's why my first Vette was a C3 (moreover, it was in my budget !). I got it in july 93 at 'Spirit of Le Mans' (Le Mans, France). They name came from the Greenwood racer that competed at the famous 24h race. The car just arrived from California the day before I saw it. I discovered later this was not a cal specific car because of it's engine block #. It was in good shape and the engine was sound showing 90,000 miles on the odometer. The interior was good, all worked except the courtesy lamp in the passenger sunvisor. The body was a 20-footer having beeing quickly repainted before shipping... I was the 'king of the world', and every time I stared at it, I was stunned by its beauty and couldn't realize it was all mine ! Here are the datas on my '81 Corvette born in march 81 at Saint-Louis Specifications : Engine :

After enjoying it for 6 years 'as-is' (except some minor work such as fuel pump or clutch swap), I decided to start a 'light' restoration. My goal was to fix all the little things that no longer worked, had some sparkle int the engine bay (I was ashamed to open my hood
I started at the end of '99. I thought the work will last a couple years, maybe 3. How wrong I was ! As I love to have a perfect result, the initial project ended in a major overhaul, my goal being to improve all I can hence the body-off resto Restoration
