'90 Corvette I've been thinking for some times it would be cool to have roadster C4 to drive in the countryside and to use as a not-too-bad-weather daily driver. It was a project I had for when I'm done with the '81 but as the rebuild took more time I got more and more frustrated not to have a Vette to drive. Moreover, in '03 my current DD (a Saab 9000) had been injured by 2 f**ù^$àp@=! redligthing in a bus lane on a stolen motorbike !
One day as I was browsing an ad mag I saw a pic of my future Vette. It was a saturday of september (and the weather was sunny !). I then showed the photo to my wife saying like "you see, that's the kind of Corvette I'd like to own within several years...". "Give a call, it doesn't cost" she replied !!! I did it in a minute and the day after I was on the road for a 600 miles trip. I then get a credit on the web and within a couple week my new ride was sleeping in my garage beside its (gutted) sister. A big thank to my wife (who likes riding in a roadster). I had not dared without her.
So, it's a '90 Corvette (L98) with auto imported new to France with very few options. It showed 78,000 kms (48,750 miles) when I got it. Once again I got a car that lost its factory color (dark metalic red) and its stock wheels. It has now an LT1 hue (dark polo green) and wheels. The former owner had a new gearbox installed (I've got the bill) and put stainless/stell exhaust that make a great sound. He also gave a Hypertech powership with a low temp thermostat. It's still not installed yet because I am a little skeptical on its performance enhancement (If you've got a different feedback please email me !). The top was worn, and there are some dirt spots on the carpet. All the rest was OK. I put 10,000 kms (6,000 miles) more the first year.
Now I can attend all the runs of the Corvette club de France and I enjoy it !
I sold her on april 2007. |
